Messing Up At The Falls

Well, the title says it all. I went to Niagara Falls, Canada and went to a lovely little attraction called Brick City. It features a giant Lego city built by some Polish guy over 5 years. I took over 100 great photos of it and came home. I put the memory card in the computer, left it in for a while, then my slightly autistic brain took over. I created and firmly implanted a false memory of me loading the pictures on. I then proceeded to take out the memory card and delete every picture off of it. And that's why there's no pictures. I'll add my two-month old fire ambulance sometime soon, like in the next week.

Biff Boffman, Space Explorer

Facing danger with an unsettling smile, exploring the deepest reaches of space with no fear, and always managing to get home before bedtime...

It's Biff Boffman, space explorer!

I wanted to make a spaceman using that trans-clear globe I've never found a use for. Although I have made some frog-mechs inspired by Matt S, I've never used the globe for a helmet. Yes, I did take the elastic-band technique from Nadroj, this time it's a bicycle tyre obtained from last post's bike.

Biff stands at least a foot taller than regular minifigures, thanks to his neck boosting air tanks and also the 1x1 plates on his feet.

The three pieces used in the ingenious helmet.

Biff dons his helmet, ready to explore the mysterious asteroid designated R-Zero-K 9.

But still, importnt questions remain... What will next post be? Will I ever make a spaceship for him? Is there possibly a comic strip coming? Tune in next time to BrickWasp to find out...

Important Personal Life Update

Hey everybody, just a quick post before a creation on whenever. I've recently taken up the time-consuming hobby of N-Scale model railroading, so I won't be pumping out as many creations. Just for you to know.

Set Review: 7639 Camper

Well, here it is, just like I promised yesterday. A set review. Yawn.

Today's set is number 7639 Camper. There's a link to it on yesterday's blog. Just looking at the box, it's a pretty nice looking camper.

If you are smart, like me, you'll realize it's a redo of Surf N' Sail Camper. Here's the picture.

So anyway, back to the review. The overview promises a small camper/R.V. with at least a chair inside besides the driver seat.

And, looking at the picture below, Lego didn't disappoint. Actually, they passed the standard. Two chairs!

The accessories are slightly lame. Two mugs. Bleh. A bike. Cool! A surfboard that I'm not excited about because I have no idea what to do with it. A pot. Bleh. And lastly, a fish on a glowy trans-red grill-tile. Really, Lego Company. I could do better. I would have at least made a decent grill!

Guy: (speaks in monotone voice) Wow, I never knew a fish on a glowy red thing could be so exciting.
Girl: (speaks in monotone voice) This is even better than the Fireplace channel!

I think this is supposed to be some sort of bed. I'm not sure, but the girl figure can't fit in it because of her awesome hair.

At least they added a ladder on the back.

My rating of this set:
7/10 for pieces
10/10 for playability
10/10 for minifigures
4/10 for vehicle itself
5/10 for acessories

All in all... 8/10. A pretty good set, but obviously more geared towards children under 10. Well, that's all for today. I'm off to modify the set and listen to some Gorillaz.

Hello Everybody!

Hello everybody and welcome to the first post of Brickwasp. This website was originally going to be named BrickHornet, but someone obviously heard about that and for a mean joke stole that name before I turned thirteen and could get a blog. Wich, incidentally, happens to be today! Well, once I take pictures and have time I shall post a set review of 7639 Camper. Well, that's about it. Now off to go persuade my parents into letting me buy Sports Car!

Ciao!

Thanks for visiting!
